Week 4 EOC: New Phone App

Sometimes I find myself driving to my destination and I am suddenly lost. The map app on my phone tells me to take a right then a left and all sudden I’m taking a different route. However, I just want to get back on the original route instead of taking a completely new route. To do this I have to look at my phone to figure out where I am at and where to go to get back to the original route. Now, the only way I can safely take a look at my phone is by pulling over to the side. This becomes such hassle, but it is safer than getting into an accident with another vehicle. So, I wish there was an app that not only worked as a GPS, but also as an automated personal assistant. For example, lets just say you took the wrong exit and your lost; thus, you ask the app how to get back to original destination. I know some map apps will just reroute you, but sometimes I find myself wanting get back on the same road. In addition, you could tell the app what street you wish to take or tell the app that you want to take neighborhood streets rather than main streets. This would come in handy for drivers like myself who find it annoying to be rerouted to bunch smaller streets instead of getting me back to the main street. As for safety the app doesn’t require you to press any buttons, but replies with an automated command. You can verbally speak without lifting a finger or removing your eyes from the road. All you have to do is open the app before driving and say certain commands. Like OnStar, but an app on your phone. The only difference is that this app has automated responses; so, you can’t ask it to make reservations for you and your partner. It will also help those who find it uncomfortable to talk to strangers.
